NEW DELHI: Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and with PM Modi rechristened the Teen Murti Chowk in downtown Delhi as the ‘Teen Murti-Haifa Chowk’ after the Israeli city of Haifa, in what’s seen as a huge symbolic significance to the growing strategic ties between the two countries. Netanyahu arrived in Delhi on Sunday on a landmark six-day visit to India.

“Very much appreciate the gesture,” the Jerusalem Post, quoted Netanyahu, as saying.
“We are strengthening the relationship between Israel and this important world power. This helps us with security, the economy, trade, tourism and many other aspects. It is a very great blessing to the state of Israel,” Netanyahu had said before boarding the flight. “Welcome to India, my friend PM @netanyahu! Your visit to India is historic and special. It will further cement the c l o s e friendship be- tween our nations,” PM Modi had tweeted.
