Team Building! CM Siddaramaiah will head to DK Shivakumar’s house for breakfast on Tuesday

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will meet Dy CM DK Shivakumar over breakfast at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday as an extension of Saturday’s meeting to resolve political differences, if any, over the issue of leadership.

There has been relative calm on both sides after the CM hosted breakfast on Saturday on directions from the AICC leaders after both sides engaged in a war of words. After round one of the breakfast, both leaders pledged to work together to strengthen the party and that they would honour high command’s decision.

At Tuesday's breakfast meeting, Shivakumar said, “This is between us. We are working together as brothers. There are no groups among us as you (media) are projecting. We have 140 MLAs, and we will take everyone together.” In a post on X, he added that he would discuss with Siddaramaiah “our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to Karnataka.”


Political observers say the two sides are sticking to the AICC’s script in view of the ongoing Parliament session as any public comments on the leadership issue in Karnataka would put the Congress on the defensive in Parliament.
