Team Anna targeting Rahul at RSS behest: Beni Prasad Verma

BARABANKI: Challenging Anna Hazare and his team to visit Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma today alleged they were targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on the directions of the RSS.

"I challenge Anna and his team to visit UP. They will then see the result. They are targeting Rahul on directions of the RSS and its leader Mohan Bhagwat," Beni said.

The Minister was addressing a gathering here in Dariyabad constituency from where his son Rakesh Verma is the Congress candidate for the upcoming assembly election in the state.

"Hazare is attacking Rahul. The youth workers of the Congress will not tolerate it. He and his team will come to know about it once they enter UP," Beni said.

He said the BJP and the RSS feared that "once Rahul will become PM, no other party will get a chance for the next 40-50 years."

Hinting at his claim for the post of Chief Ministership, Beni said "may be the next government in the state will be formed from Barabanki."

He asked party workers to be prepared for the assembly election which could be declared any time.

On quota for Muslims, Beni said Rahul had asked Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid to provide 10 per cent reservation to them form the backward class category.
