Our ministers in central cabinet and BJP ministers in our cabinet have resigned: Chandrababu Naidu

Naidu's decision came hours after the press conference by FM Arun Jaitley, in which he said the centre could not accommodate TDP's demands for "special category" status or tax relief for the state.

BJP ministers resign from Andhra cabinet amid TDP-Centre tussle over special status
In a move that could further heighten the crisis, principal opposition party YSR Congress backs ruling TDP on special category status to state; insists on TDP to move no confidence motion in Parliament against NDA government.

Addressing the state assembly today, N Chandrababu Naidu said, "Our ministers in central cabinet and BJP ministers in our cabinet have resigned. However, these ministers worked good in the state. They brought considerable reforms in their departments. I thank them for their services."

Earlier today, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ministers in Andhra Pradesh Government submitted their resignation in the Chief Ministers office on Thursday, amid the deteriorating relations between Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and BJP.

The ministers, who have submitted their resignation, are State Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and State endowment minister Pydikondala Manikyala Rao in N. Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet. This comes after BJP leader P.V.N. Madhav categorically stated, "Our ministers will resign from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Cabinet".

Attacking the Modi govt for "betraying" Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Wednesday pulled out two of its ministers in the central government, marking the crack in the BJP-led coalition four years after it stormed to office with a massive mandate.

Chandrababu Naidu's decision came hours after the press conference by FM Arun Jaitley, in which he said the centre could not accommodate TDP's demands for "special category" status or tax relief for the state.

Arun Jaitley was categorical in his stance on special category status. He said, centre was willing to provide the “monetary equivalent” of a special category state to Andhra Pradesh but would not be able to grant the “special status” which was restricted only to the north-eastern and three hilly states by the 14th Finance Commission.
