TDP member's allegation on SEZ creates flutter in Rajya Sabha

A TDP member on Tuesday created a flutter in the Rajya Sabha by making certain allegations in regard to an SEZ coming up in Andhra Pradesh.


NEW DELHI: A TDP member on Tuesday created a flutter in the Rajya Sabha by making certain allegations in regard to an SEZ coming up in Andhra Pradesh.

M V Mysura Reddy's statement in which he also referred to "huge investment from Mauritius-based companies in setting up SEZs in India" saw immediate protest from the Congress members.

He was participating in a discussion on the working of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Amid the disruptions, Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh also protested against the charge and urged the Chair to expunge it.

Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan ordered that the allegations be expunged.
