TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu produced in ACB court in skill development case
N Chandrababu Naidu, the president of the Telugu Desam Party, was produced in an Anti-Corruption Bureau court in Vijaywada on Sunday morning amid tight security, a day after being arrested in an alleged corruption case. Siddarth Luthra, a Supreme Court lawyer, and a team of advocates are representing the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister.

At the court complex, several TDP top leaders and party personnel gathered.

Following a 10-hour questioning at the CID's Special Investigation Team (SIT) office in Kunchanapalli, he was transported to Government General Hospital in Vijayawada for medical testing at 3:40 a.m.

Following the tests, which lasted around 50 minutes, Naidu was returned to the SIT office, despite the fact that he was anticipated to be transferred directly to a local court.

TDP spokesperson Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy said the TDP chief's son Nara Lokesh, wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, and others were waiting at the ACB Court.

"We expected him to be taken to court." But they returned him to the SIT office. Lokesh and Bhuvaneswari were waiting at the Court when the convoy abruptly headed towards the SIT office," Kommareddy explained.

He expressed astonishment and confusion when asked if Naidu would be produced in court within 24 hours of his arrest.

On Saturday, Naidu was arrested in connection with the suspected Skill Development Corporation scam during a pre-dawn police raid in Gnanapuram, Nandyala. The CID apprehended him about 6 a.m. outside a marriage hall where his trailer was parked.

According to reports, the scandal cost the state exchequer Rs 300 crore. The TDP leader has been identified as the 'primary conspirator' in the case.
