Tata relief committee signs MoU with Uttarakhand government
Tata Relief Committee and Uttarakhand Govt today signed a Memorandum of Understanding towards community rehabilitation.
The scope of the MOU included an overall framework within which rehabilitation initiatives may be implemented across themes of reconstruction, health, vocational skill training and enterprise based livelihoods, according to a Tata Steel press release here.
The release sated that the MOU would also provide for formal allocation of 9 villages across Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh to TRC for overall reconstruction and rehabilitation.
A joint committee with representatives from the GoUK and TRC has also been established for supervision of the initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Rakesh Sharma (Additional Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand) and Sunil Bhaskaran (Vice Chairman, Tata Relief Committee).
The occasion was also graced by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and. Subhash Kumar (Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand).
Speaking on the occasion, Bahuguna said, "on behalf of the Government of Uttarakhand, I would like to express my gratitude to Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry and the Tata group for their rehabilitation initiatives in the state.
