Tarun Gogoi counters BJP’s allegations that HM could not visit border areas as state did not assure security

GUWAHATI: Politics over the recent clashes along the Assam-Nagaland has intensified. BJP has stated Union Home minister, Rajnath Singh could not visit trouble torn areas as the state government did not assure security. Assam chief minister, Tarun Gogoi has dared the Saffron party to prove the allegation.

Gogoi challenged the BJP to make it public the formal communiqué from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the State Government regarding the proposed visit of Union Home Minister. Gogoi said the State BJP is unleashing a misinformation campaign centring around the visit of Union Home Minister to Assam.

Gogoi said the State BJP is taking recourse to falsehood by making weird statement that the State Government did not give the goahead to the Union Home Minister to visit Assam citing security reasons.

“The State BJP is making blatant lies that our Government did not give the go-ahead to the Union Home Minister to visit Assam on security grounds. The Ministry of Home Affairs did not send any itinerary to the State Government regarding the visit of Rajnath Singh to Assam.
