Tarun Gogoi appears in a court in connection with a defamation case

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi appeared in a court in Guwahati in connection with a defamation case filed by his once blue eyed boy and now BJP leader, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Himanta has filed Rs 100 Crore defamation suit against Gogoi for implicating his name with Louis Berger and Shardha scam.

Several minister of Gogo’s cabinet accompanied Gogoi to court as a mark of solidarity.

Gogoi said, "I am a law abiding citizen. There is no difference between a chief minister and others. Responding to the court summon, I appeared in the court. There is an allegation made against me. I will fight back."
