Rijiju assured that this will not have any adverse impact on other Northeastern states. Government had inked a framework agreement with NSCN-IM in 2015.
Rijiju also said that territorial integrity of states will be protected.
"I can assure to the people of Northeast that talks are on with the NSCN (IM) for a political solution and that there will not be any ramifications on boundary of the states. There is some misconceptions about the Naga peace process," he said.
The minister added it was decided that talks will go by concrete timeline. NSCN (IM) has dropped sovereignty and some other sensitive issues.
There is apprehension in Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh that geographical boundaries will be redrawn due to the framework agreement.
He said that the Central government has agreed in principle to the demands of the pro-talk faction of ULFA. The talks are on the final stage and the Memorandum of settlement is expected to be signed soon.
