Half the deaths and arrests recorded in UP in the last six months have been in Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur As many as 18 criminals have been gunned down in Uttar Pradesh in the last six months, with maximum encounters and deaths taking place in the western part of the state. Shamli, Muzzafarnagar and Saharanpur districts accounted for half of these 18 encounter deaths.
