CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu goverment will sign MoUs worth about Rs 20,000 crore of investment, including new proposals and expansion by existing companies, on November five.

The government had approved these proposals in the last two cabinet meetings, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced in a statement in the assembly today.

According to her, the proposals cover a wide area including autmotive ( Hyundai expansion) telecom ( Nokia) power ( BGR Energy and Hitachi) and many others.

A total of 12 investment proposals amounting to Rs 20,900 crore will be signed and this will be the first time so many MoUs were being inked on a particular day, she said.

The investment would create direct and indirect employment oppourtunies for about 1.37 lakh persons, Jayalalithaa said.
