Tamil Nadu tests 93,844 people for Covid-19 in a single day

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported a whopping 93,844 people being tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday.

The state witnessed 4462 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, a marginal drop from 4666 cases on Tuesday.

This brings the total tally up to 670,392, the state media bulletin confirmed.


The death toll in the state touched 10,423, with 52 more deaths being reported, the State media bulletin confirmed.

Tamil Nadu’s capital has been the worst affected district in the state and the cases remained stagnant with 1130 cases being reported on Wednesday.

As many as 5083 people recovered from the infection on Wednesday, and the total recoveries now stand at 617,403.
