Tamil Nadu reports yet another day of over 700 Covid-19 cases

Last Monday, the State reported the highest ever rise in cases with 798 people testing positive for the novel Coronavirus. This is the second-highest number of cases that the State has reported in a single day.

The State has witnessed 14,753 cases in all.
A total of 92 people who came from other States and countries have tested positive for the infection on Friday.
Chennai accounted for 569 cases on Friday alone. The city has had 9364 cases of the infection so far. However, according to the media bulletin, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri Namakkal and Tiruppur have zero active cases.
So far, 902 children below the age of 12 have tested positive in the state.
The government said 846 patients were discharged on Friday, taking the total number of recoveries in Tamil Nadu to 7128.
So far, 3,85,185 samples have been tested. As many as 12,046 samples were tested on Friday alone.
