Tamil Nadu reports under 4000 cases of Covid-19 in over 2 weeks

Tamil Nadu’s capital has been the worst affected district in the state and the cases came down marginally from over 1100 to 1036 on Sunday, providing some relief.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported under 4000 cases for the first time in over two weeks on Sunday.

The State saw 3914 people testing positive for the infection on Sunday, the State media bulletin confirmed.

This takes the total tally in the State to 687,400 cases.


The number of deaths, however, shot up to 56 on Sunday, with which the death toll touched 10,642, the State media bulletin confirmed.

As many as 4929 people recovered from the infection on Sunday, and the total recoveries now stand at 637,637.

The state tested 88643 people on Sunday, a drop from the whopping 93,844 people who were tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday.
