Tamil Nadu reports second-highest single day spike in Covid-19 cases with 776 cases and seven deaths

The death toll in the State stands at 94 with seven more deaths being reported on Thursday.
The State has 7588 active cases and has witnessed 13,967 cases in all.
Chennai accounted for 567 cases on Thursday alone. The city has had 8795 cases of the infection so far. However, according to the media bulletin, Coimbatore, Erode, Namakkal, Thiruvarur and Tiruppur have zero active cases.
So far, 856 children below the age of 12 have tested positive in the state.
The government said 400 patients were discharged on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries in Tamil Nadu to 6282.
So far, 3,72,532 samples have been tested. As many as 12,464 samples were tested on Thursday alone and 667 samples are currently under process.
