Chennai reported 723 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, the State media bulletin confirmed.
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 2,608 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking its tally to 722, 011 cases, while the death toll on account of the pandemic increased to 38 from 35 on Friday.

This pushed the death toll in the State to 11,091.

The State has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last week, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country.


However, this is the second day that the cases have been over 2600 after touching about 2500 cases on Wednesday.

Chennai reported 723 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, the State media bulletin confirmed.

There was a decline in the number of recoveries on Friday with 3924 people being discharged taking the total recoveries in the state stood to 687,388.

As many as 76,048 people were tested for the infection on Friday.
