The houses, meant for personnel from constables to Deputy Superintendents of Police and Fireman to Station Manager in Fire and Rescue Services, have been constructed at Melakotaiyur in the neighbouring Kancheepuram district.
The houses will be in the range of 1100 sq.ft, 850 sq.ft and 650 sq.ft. for personnel in the rank of DSP, Inspector and Constables, respectively, it added.
Jayalalithaa also inaugurated 1,749 police quarters constructed in different parts of the state,including Madurai, Cuddalore, Chennai and Namakkal at a cost of Rs 202 crore, buildings for both Police and Fire and Rescue Services, it said.
The overall estimate of the facilities inaugurated today was Rs 753.82 crore, the release said.
