Tamil Nadu crosses 11,800 Covid-19 deaths

Chennai: The number of Covid-19 deaths in Tamil Nadu crossed the 11,800 mark on Monday with 16 more people succumbing to the infection, the state media bulletin confirmed.

The number of cases, however, continued to decrease with 1312 people testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday as opposed to 1320 on Sunday.

The total tally of cases in the State stands at 791,552 now.


Chennai's cases plunged further with 307 people testing positive for the infection on Monday when compared to 346 people on Sunday.

The number of discharges hovered around the same number with 1389 people being discharged on Monday, taking the total discharges to 769,048.

Testing, however, went down sharply from 70,299 on Sunday to 63,547 on Monday.
