Chennai reported under 700 new Covid-19 cases again going down significantly from 669 people on Tuesday to 657 people testing positive on Wednesday.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported 2487 new Covid-19 cases on Wednessay as opposed to 2435 cases on Tuesday.

This takes the total tally in the State to 734,429 cases, while the death toll on account of the pandemic remained at 30 on Wednesday.

This pushed the death toll in the State to 11,244, the State media bulletin confirmed.


The State has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last few weeks, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country.

Chennai reported under 700 new Covid-19 cases again going down significantly from 669 people on Tuesday to 657 people testing positive on Wednesday.

The number of recoveries went down from 2707 on Tuesday to 2504 on Wednesday, taking the total discharges to 704,031.

Testing, however, went up from 69,496 on Tuesday to 74,496 on Wednesday.
