Tamil Nadu coronavirus cases rise marginally; reports over 2600 cases

The state reported around 2500 cases on Wednesday. Tamil Nadu has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last week, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported 2,652 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, taking its tally to 719,403 cases, while the death toll on account of the pandemic increased by 35 to 11,053.

The state reported around 2500 cases on Wednesday. Tamil Nadu has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last week, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country.

Chennai reported a small increase in cases going up from 688 on Wednesday to 756 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, the State media bulletin confirmed.


The number of recoveries went up from 3859 on Wednesday to 4087 on Thursday, taking the total recoveries in the state stood to 683,464.

Testing went up from 71,147 on Wednesday to 73,862 people on Thursday.
