New Delhi: Central leaders of the Congress will hold discussions with senior party functionaries of the Tamil Nadu unit on the upcoming state assembly election in Delhi on Saturday

The meeting is taking place days after the Congress conveyed to coalition leader DMK its wish for an increased share of seats and a pre-poll commitment on power-sharing, even as DMK leaders responded by ruling out any power-sharing in the state.

ET had reported on December 23 that the All India Congress Committee in-charge Girish Chodankar had conveyed to DMK chief MK Stalin the Congress wish list. During Saturday's meet, expected to be attended by Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, a section of Tamil Nadu Congress leaders could broach the power-sharing issue and express a wish for at least six ministerial berths for the party if the DMK-led alliance retains power. While a section of Congress wants to keep Vijay-led TVK as a potential alliance option, many leaders are wary of any "misadventure" with the DMK risking their long partnership.
