Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa telephones Mamata Banerjee
KOLKATA: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha called up her West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee on Friday and spoke to her for almost 10 minutes. Even though Mamata did not say anything regarding the telephonic conversation she had with Jayalalithaa, sources close to her indicated that the two chief ministers had talked about possible tie up between their political parties after the LS elections.

Interestingly, Tamil Nadu CM had called up Mamata Banerjee after her party AIADMK snapped it's alliance with the Left parties on Thursday. Mamata too, indicated on Thursday that she had no problem in supporting Jayalalitha to become the prime minister. Mamata also told Times Now on Thursday that she had worked with Jayalalitha and Mayawati during Atal Behari Vajpayee's tenure as the prime minister and had no problem in supporting the AIADMK chief to become the prime minister.
