Talks with NSCN-IM in final stage: Kiren Rijiju
Rijiju rejects rumours about becoming Arunachal chief minister.

Rijiju who was in Guwahati on Wednesday said, “Talks with NSCN-IM is in the final stages and discussion is on on one or two things. However, we will not like to reveal those now. We are having discussion with pro-talk ULFA militants. They have submitted some points which we are discussing.”
Government of India and NSCN-IM has inked framework agreement last year. Centre's interlocutor, RN Ravi recently invited three citizens' organisations of Manipur for further consultations on the ongoing Naga peace talks.
Ravi, has invited the United Committee Manipur (UCM), All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (Amuco) and Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) to participate in the consultations proposed to be held on January 20 at the conference hall of the National Security Council secretariat.
Rijiju, however, ruled out taking over as the Arunachal chief minister. Rijiju is an Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh and there were reports that BJP is likely to place Rijiju as the chief minister replacing incumbent chief minister Pema Khandu.
Recently around 33 MLAs of Peoples’ party of Arunachal (PPA) including chief minister, Pema Khandu joined the Saffron party, thereby making Arunachal Pradesh a BJP-ruled state.
Rijiju said, "I was offered the post, however, I rejected the same for I am happy working in the Centre. Pema is young and we must support him. He must be given time to perform.”
State unit of BJP has earlier refuted and stated that there is no such move to replace Khandu.
