NEW DELHI: CPI(M) today hit out at Centre over logjam in Rajya Sabha, saying it was the Government's job to run the House and asked the Narendra Modi dispensation to "learn to talk to all" if it is "serious" about transacting legislative business.

Taking to Twitter after attending all-party meeting convened by Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari here today to break logjam in the Upper House, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury stressed that the Government needs to engage in conversation with opposition on a "regular basis".

"Attended the all-party meeting called by Chairman, Rajya Sabha today. It is the government's job to run the House.

"'New rules' cannot compensate for conversations government needs to have with opposition parties on regular basis.

"The government should learn to talk to all if it is serious about transacting serious legislative business," Yechury said in a series of posts on the micro-blogging site.

The logjam in the Rajya Sabha though was broken today with opposition agreeing for passage of some bills and allowing its normal functioning in remaining three days of Winter session after an all-party meeting convened by Ansari but a consensus eluded GST.
