The party also issued a fact check of sorts countering each of Shah's claims on Bengal. It cited infighting in BJP and the criminal record of some of its MPs as reasons for political violence. It also claimed the industrial growth and per person earning were much better in West Bengal than BJP-ruled states such as UP. It also said the state was better than UP in controlling crime against women.
Attacking the home minister on the numbers he qouted yesterday, Banerjee said they were a garbage of lies, and said the state was doing well in several sectors, particularly in MSME. She promised to give a detailed reply to Shah's accusations on Tuesday.
Though the home minister had clarified on Sunday that rules of the Citizenship Amendment Act will take some time to be drafted, Banerjee said that she will continue to fight the CAA and will not let anyone leave the country.
