Take DoPT's clearance before holding job interview: Government

NEW DELHI: Interviews for recruitments to all Group B non-gazetted and Group C posts have been dispensed with and if a department considers interview absolutely necessary then clearance of Department of Personnel and Training ( DoPT) is necessary, the government said today.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and central ministries have been instructed to implement these decisions, it said.

"The central government has decided to dispense with interview for all Group C and non-gazetted posts of Group B category in central government," Minister of State for Personnel, Public grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said.

If a department considers interview absolutely necessary for any specific posts, then clearance from DoPT is necessary, he said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

"This would promote merit-based selection and enhance transparency and objectivity in the selection process," the minister said.
