Take decision on Telangana issue immediately: CPI-M to Centre

CPI(M) blamed Centre for the "deepening political crisis" over formation of a separate Telangana and demanded an immediate decision on the issue.

NEW DELHI: The CPI(M) on Wednesday blamed Congress and the Centre for the "deepening political crisis" over the formation of a separate Telangana and demanded an immediate decision on the issue by the government.

The inaction of the Central Government and the Congress leadership in resolving the issue is the main cause for the present impasse, party politburo said in a statement.

Observing that the political crisis in Andhra Pradesh has deepened with the resignation of many MLAs and MPs from the Telangana region, it said over six months have elapsed since the Justice Sri Krishna Committee submitted its report to the Centre and the Union Home Minister convened a meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh soon thereafter.

"But after that, the government has not taken any decision," the CPI(M) said and demanded that the government should take a decision on the matter immediately.
