Taiyaba chanced upon PM's 'mann ki baat' programme and asked her family how the PM can be approached. “The doctor who treated her encouraged her to write to the PM."

Eldest among her four siblings, Taiyaba lives with her father Abdul Khalid, 46, in Mantola, a lower middle class locality in Agra. Khalid, who works as a daily wager in a shoe factory, told TOI on Thursday that ever since her birth Taiyaba could not do much physical work and had trouble breathing as well. “She has spent most of her life moving in and out of hospitals, getting treatment for the several ailments that have dogged her,“ he said.
Khalid said that Taiyaba chanced upon PM's 'mann ki baat' programme and asked her family how the PM can be approached. “The doctor who treated her encouraged her to write to the PM. We also egged her to write to PM Modi.“ She then wrote to him with the help of her friends and posted it. Taiyaba wrote that she has a hole in her heart, which requires an expensive surgery .As her family could not afford it, she wanted the PM's help in getting treatment free of cost.
An excited Taiyaba said she wanted to meet the PM in person and thank him for what he has done for her. At present, she is suffering from a viral infection and will report to the GB Pant Hospital in the national capital in a couple of days.
