Prasad questioned Shuja’s allegations. “No evidence, no corroboration, no question and such big allegations.”
EVM hacking’ allegations of Syed Shuja, an Indian who was purportedly given political asylum in the US, has triggered a war of words between the BJP-led Centre and the Congress.

Law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called it a “Congresss ponsored conspiracy” to “defame” Indian democracy and the EC, while Congress’ Kapil Sibal demanded a probe into all specific allegations of Shuja and urged the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh to start the procedure by filing an FIR as many of the incidents allegedly took place in the state.

“There should be an inquiry into charges he (Shuja) has made. It is important to ascertain whether the charges are right or not.

If they are wrong, take action against him. If they are right, then it is a serious thing,” Sibal, who was present at the London press meet as an ‘invitee’, told a news conference in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Prasad rubbished Shuja’s allegations and claimed Ashish Ray, the head of the Indian Journalists’ Association that organised the conference, was a “committed Congressman”. “Sibal was there to monitor the event for the Congress. It was a Congress-sponsored conspiracy designed to defame Indian democracy and its Election Commission,” Prasad alleged.

Prasad questioned Shuja’s allegations. “No evidence, no corroboration, no question and such big allegations.” He expressed BJP’s “deep pain” at the allegation that ex-Union minister Gopinath Munde was “murdered” because he was aware of the 2014 poll “rigging” and was set to “disclose” it.
