Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani today condemned the attack on a telecom outlet in Sopore town of Kashmir in which one person was killed and two others injured, terming it as a terrorist act.

Expressing "sorrow, grief and surprise" over the attack, the Hardline Hurriyat Conference leader said, "It is purely a terrorist act and whoever is involved in this, is the enemy of Islam and humanity and he want to defame the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri nation."

The leader also expressed heartfelt sympathy with the families of the slain and the injured, a spokesman of the separatist amalgam said.

"We equally share their grief," he said.

Three persons, including a soldier and a militant, were killed and two people injured today as ultras targeted an army patrol and a franchise of BSNL at two places in Kashmir.

In the first incident, militants opened fire at an army patrol at Kanjikulla in Yaripora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district, about 80 kms from here.

In the other incident, militants fired at a franchisee outlet of BSNL at Iqbal Market in Sopore in north Kashmir Baramulla district, 52 kms from here.
