Swati Maliwal slams Sunita Kejriwal for 'sukoon' post on Bibhav Kumar after his bail
Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal criticised Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, for celebrating the bail of Bibhav Kumar, who Maliwal accused of assaulting her. Maliwal condemned the Kejriwal family for supporting Kumar and shared...

Maliwal interpreted Sunita Kejriwal's post as a clear message that those who commit violence against women would be protected and supported. She criticised the Kejriwal family for celebrating Kumar's release, saying, "Relieved because the man who beat me and misbehaved with me in his house has been released on bail. This is a clear message to everyone: beat up women, then launch a dirty trolling campaign, completely ruin the victim, and hire an army of the country's most expensive lawyers to save that man in court! How can we expect respect for our sisters and daughters from those who find solace in seeing such people? God is watching everything; justice will be done."
Maliwal also shared a cryptic post on the social media platform X, featuring an image from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, depicting Draupadi's disrobing by Dushasana, with Krishna coming to her aid. The image was symbolic of her ongoing struggle for justice.
The controversy dates back to May 13, when Maliwal alleged that Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Arvind Kejriwal, assaulted her at the Chief Minister's official residence. Kumar was arrested on May 18 and had been in custody for 100 days before the Supreme Court granted him bail. The court noted that a charge sheet had already been filed in the case.
An FIR was registered against Kumar on May 16 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal intimidation, assault with intent to disrobe, and attempted culpable homicide. Kumar was also accused of destroying evidence by formatting his phone and refusing to provide its password. Despite these allegations, Kumar's release on bail has sparked a heated exchange, with Maliwal expressing her deep disappointment in the response of the Kejriwal family.
