Swaraj Abhiyan opens 100 offices in Delhi; eye on MCD polls
NEW DELHI: Intending to contest the civic body polls next year, Swaraj Abhiyan, the group formed by expelled AAP leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, today said it has opened 100 offices in the national capital.

The development assumes significance as the group has plans to launch a political party.

If the group does join the fray, it will be directly pitted against AAP in the elections with the Arvind Kejriwal- led party expected to go all out to wrest the MCDs from BJP.

The Abhiyan -- which is made up mostly of former AAP volunteers -- aims to establish "rapport with people, build its cadre base and solve people's problems", said a leader of the group.

The Abhiyan has also indicated it would contest the Punjab polls scheduled to be held next year.

The Abhiyan leader said that the group has opened offices in 100 municipal wards in the national capital with Yadav inaugurating an office in ward No.145 of Palam this morning.
