Swami Agnivesh was like a mole: Kiran Bedi

NEW DELHI: Swami Agnivesh, whose allegiance to Anna Hazare became suspect after the appearance of a video CD showing him leaking details of Team Anna’s plans on their agitational programme, was on Sunday dubbed as a “mole’’ by Kiran Bedi.

Agnivesh, who invited Team Anna’s wrath after going public with his differences with the rest of Team Anna on the Gandhian’s idefinite fast, was subsequently dropped from the group altogether.

Bedi, a prominent member of the civil society group, made it clear that their split with Swami Agnivesh was total, and irreconciliable.

The video, Bedi told a news channel, had raised questions over Agnivesh’s credibility. She added that doubts about his loyalties had been there for quite some time in view of the surfacing of “allegations’’ against him, but was allowed to remain part of the group.

“There was a direct link between him (Agnivesh) and HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. That means he was almost like a mole in the whole group,” she said.
