Swachh Bharat rankings: Rashtrapati Bhavan among the cleanest buildings

NEW DELHI: Rashtrapati Bhavan and UPSC building have secured full marks to be declared the cleanest buildings along with Hyderabad House, Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan and Vigyan Bhavan in Swachh Bharat rankings for Central government buildings this year.

Last year, Rashtrapati Bhavan had missed out on the full score (20) by one mark while UPSC building had secured 17.

Nirvachan Sadan's performance has declined substantially with a score of 13 this year over the 18 points it collected in 2015 and Sardar Patel Bhavan dropped by two notches to score 16 points.

Jaipur House, Jamnagar House, Jaisalmer House and AGCR Building at ITO were at the bottom of the list of 36 such buildings.

In a similar survey last year, Hyderabad House, Vigyan Bhavan and Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan had scored maximum 20 marks, a rating they maintained this year too.

The assessment exercise was carried out by the Central Public Works Department ( CPWD) between March 16 and 21, a UD ministry release said. IP Bhavan and Transport Bhavan did not show any improvement from their lower scores last year.

The cleanliness survey was based on three parameters - sanitation infrastructure in the office and overall cleanliness with 40 per cent weightage each and mechanism employed for proper disposal of solid waste with 20 percent weightage.
