Swachh Bharat: CM Badal to lead Punjab in statewide cleanliness mission

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would lead the state-wide ' Swachh Bharat' mission at a state level function to be held at Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda district tomorrow.

All employees of Punjab would report to their offices at 9 am and after taking the oath of cleanliness, they would participate in this campaign for two hours, an official spokesman said here today.

The chief minister would administer the oath of cleanliness to the people including officers/officials at Talwandi Sabo whereas ministers and other dignitaries would administer the oath of cleanliness at district headquarters, he said.

The Chief Secretary would administer the oath to the officers/official posted at Civil Secretariat. In various boards and corporations and statutory bodies, head of the board would lead the function. The spokesman said that similar function would be held at all schools, colleges, technical universities, training institutes, hospitals and police stations.

Similar function would be organised in every Panchayat where Sarpanch would administer the oath. In the Municipal Committees and Corporations Mayors, Chairman would administer the oath, he said.

Instructions have been issued to make this function a great success by making cleanliness drive a national movement, he said.
