Swachh Bharat: Cleanliness drive should also include the mind, says Smriti Irani

GURGAON: HRD Minister Smriti Irani today said the ' Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' should not remain limited to the cleanliness of the environment but should also include the cleanliness of mind.

Irani also announced Wasima, a Class VI student from village Gunawat in Mewat, as the Brand Ambassador of Bal Swachhta Abhiyan for Haryana state.

Addressing a gathering at the concluding function of Bal Swachhta Mission organized at Mewat Model School Nuh today, Irani said the cleanliness drive was not a political programme, rather the children of the country should get a clean atmosphere and surroundings.

She appealed to the students to wash hands before meals and said they should also ask their elders to wash their hands.

The Union Minister released a CD of documentary on the cleanliness mission, which will be sent to schools in the state.
