Suvendu Adhikari meets Home Minister Amit Shah

West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari met home minister Amit shah and BJP president JP Nadda at their residences on Tuesday, even as the Bengal BJP convened an important core group meeting that was skipped by one of the earliest defectors to the BJP from TMC, Mukul Roy.

Adhikari is also expected to meet PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

A senior functionary said the purpose of Adhikari’s discussed the harrassment of BJP leaders and workers by the TMC. The biggest worry for the saffron party right now is keeping the motivation of the BJP workers high, a functionary said. Later in the day, former minister Rajib Banerjee in an apparent jibe at Adhikari said that one shouldn't keep running to Delhi or threatening a government with public mandate with the likelihood of President's rule.


Sources said the Bengal BJP is reworking its strategy to corner the TMC dispensation. Dilip Ghosh chaired a party meeting in Kolkata, but apart from Roy, Rajib Banerjee and Shamik Bhattacharya skipped the meeting. Ghosh, however, played down the absence of these leaders.
