The suspension of six Congress MLAs, including Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, was lifted on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, along with other Congress MLAs, staged a protest outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly over the suspensions.

Gehlot criticised the ruling party for ignoring their protest, stating, "The ruling party is not concerned about our protest... We haven't received any communication from their end... They are specifically targeting Govind Singh Dotasra and attempting to defame Congress. For the past three days, I have been in discussions with the Chief Minister and the Assembly Speaker to resolve this deadlock," as reported by PTI.

During the protest, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tika Ram Jully added, "They are preventing us from entering the assembly because they fear we will present our views... The ruling party is acting in a dictatorial manner... I have spoken to the Parliamentary Minister and the Chief Minister, but the ruling party does not want this deadlock to end or the budget to be discussed."

Govind Singh Dotasra, Rajasthan Congress chief, demanded that objectionable comments made about the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi be expunged from the record and called for the minister to apologize. He further expressed, "Due to the government's dictatorial attitude, we are unable to enter the assembly and raise issues affecting the public."

The protest stems from a controversial remark allegedly made by state minister Avinash Gehlot regarding Indira Gandhi, which Congress MLAs have condemned. While BJP leaders have supported the minister, denying any derogatory intent, Congress MLAs have insisted the remark be removed from the assembly proceedings.

Speaker Vasudev Devnani had earlier suspended six Congress MLAs, including Govind Singh Dotasra, Deputy Leader of Opposition Ramkesh Meena, Amin Kagzi, Zakir Hussain Gasavat, Hakeem Ali Khan, and Sanjay Kumar, over the issue.
