Sushma Swaraj row: Congress workers protest in Amritsar
AMRITSAR: Congress workers here today protested against Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj for helping scam-tainted former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in procuring travel documents in the UK.

Led by district President Gurjeet Singh Aujla, the activists also burnt an effigy of Swaraj and said that Lalit Modi was known not only to the union minister, but also Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

"It is unlikely that the PMO was unaware that his government was extending favors to Lalit Modi. Since Sushma Swaraj's intervention, on 'humanitarian grounds', money launderer Lalit Modi has been having a good time partying and traveling across the world," he said.

"On the other hand, the Modi-government has denied India's former soldiers their right to One Rank One Pension," he said.

Demanding sacking of Swaraj, Aujla said that Modi should stop protecting Lalit Modi.
