NEW DELHI: While the Centre led by Finance Minister P Chidambaram had rubbished most assertions made by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi during the chief minister's conference on Wednesday, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has agreed to conduct one particular exercise which Modi had demanded from the central government.

The Union home ministry has sent out a written communique on Friday asking all its divisions to prepare a report listing out all suggestions and recommendations made by various chief ministers during the annual chief minister's conference since 2004 when UPA came to power. The ministry has also asked all its divisions to specify which all recommendations or suggestions made by the respective CMs were accepted or rejected, and the status of the implementation if the suggestion from the states had been accepted by the Centre. The home ministry has fixed a deadline of June 21 for all divisions to send in their reports which will then be complied and put before the Union home minister, a ministry official told ET.
