Suresh Pachauri among 26 Congress nominees for Madhya Pradesh polls

Suresh Pachauri, Cong Seva Dal chief Mahendra Joshi, former MPs Sunderlal Tewari and Tilak Raj Singh and former state Minister Mukesh Nayak figure in the third Cong list for MP Assembly polls.

NEW DELHI: Former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri, Congress Seva Dal chief Mahendra Joshi, former MPs Sunderlal Tewari and Tilak Raj Singh and former state Minister Mukesh Nayak figure in the third list of 26 Congress candidates for Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls announced.

While Pachauri will contest from Bhojpur, Joshi is the nominee from Sujalpur.

Tewari and Singh have been given tickets from Gurh and Dhauhani (ST) respectively.

Nayak, also a former state youth Congress chief, is the nominnee from Pawai.

Among the 26 candidates, 21 are new while five have come replacing the candidates announced earlier.

Yesterday Jaivardhan Singh, the US-educated son of Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh, and Bhuwaneshwar Singh, son-in-law of late leader Arjun Singh, figured in the second list of 82 party candidates.

The state assembly has 230 seats. After today's list, a dozen-odd candidates are yet to be announced by Congress for the state.The party is out of power in MP for ten years.
