Suresh Kalmadi rejects strictures over Commonwealth Youth Games

Suspended from Congress party following the 2010 CWG scam, Kalmadi said "I have not been given a hearing by PAC" and said it amounted to denial of "natural justice".

PUNE: City MP Suresh Kalmadi today rejected as "politically motivated" the charge that he had failed to submit audit of Maharashtra government's funds allotted for the 2008 ommonwealth Youth Games held here.

Reacting to the report of the state legislature's Public Accounts Committee (PAC), chaired by BJP's local MLA Girish Bapat, which has passed strictures against him on the issue, Kalmadi said in a statement here that "all accounts and relevant documents are in order and available with Organising Committee."

He claimed the charges made against him in the report were "malicious and politically motivated".
