Surat police files charge-sheet against Hardik Patel

GANDHINAGAR: Surat Police on Friday filed a charge-sheet against Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti ( PAAS) leader Hardik Patel. The Supreme Court had recently asked Gujarat Government to file the charge-sheet on Friday.

The charge-sheet that runs for 379 pages also contain call detail records appended to it along with Forensic Lab reports confirming his voice samples. The next hearing of the court has been scheduled for January 11, when Hardik is expected to receive a copy of the charge-sheet. Hardik was arrested by the police on October 3 and was charged with sedition as well as for inciting violence.

While he had moved Gujarat HC for bail, his plea was rejected and subsequently he had knocked the doors of the SC, which had asked the state government to file the charge-sheet. The Patidar community has been agitating for inclusion in the OBC list.
