NEW DELHI: The government on Monday sought the Supreme Court’s permission to hold a ‘ Make in India’ show on Chowpatty beach from February 13 to 18, after the request was turned down by a high court.

Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar mentioned this before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India TS Thakur and sought his nod to hold the show, which is to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and three other prime ministers.

The top court will hear the plea on Tuesday.

The high court had said no such function can be allowed on the beach.
