Supreme Court says activist Teesta Setalvad will not be arrested
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that social activist Teesta Setalvad will not be arrested in connection with a case of alleged embezzlement of NGO funds. The case had been filed against her by the Gujarat government in 2014.

Setalvad, who claims that the case was politically motivated, was, however, asked to cooperate with the investigations into the case.

The state government claims that the activist misappropriated over Rs 1 crore raised for riot victims. Setalvad has denied the charge.

A bench comprising Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said a detailed order would be passed later.
