Supreme Court ruling only confirms earlier decision: Goa mining industry

The state government has already started e-auctioning 15 million tonnes of the ore which was extracted after 2007.

PANAJI: The Supreme Court's latest order on the iron ore extracted after 2007 merely confirms its earlier ruling, Goa Mineral Ore Exporters Association (GMOEA) today said in a statement.

Supreme Court in its order in the case involving Bandekar Bros Pvt Ltd yesterday refused to set aside its earlier order saying that ore extracted after 2007 in Goa is a property of the state.

The state government has already started e-auctioning 15 million tonnes of the ore which was extracted after 2007.

A senior GMOEA official said this statement was issued to repel the notion that yesterday's order was detrimental to the mining industry in the state.
