Supreme Court notice to govt on 10% quota

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected demands for a stay on the government’s move to bring 10% quota in jobs and admissions for the poor in unreserved categories, but said it would examine the issue.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Sanjeev Khanna issued notices to the government on a host of petitions challenging the recent act which provided for this quota.
