Supreme Court cancels Shahabuddin's bail

Shahabuddin had allegedly killed two of his sons earlier and while trial was underway, the third son, a witness to the earlier murder, was killed in an acid bath.

Supreme Court cancels Shahabuddin's bail
NEW DELHI:The Supreme Court on Friday cancelled bail granted to RJD leader Mohammed Shahabuddin by the Patna High Court on Sept 7, 2016, and directed the Bihar government to take him immediately into custody, noting in its order cryptically that the trial court had recorded that a killed witness in a murder case had “seen him take part in the offence”.

The order was alluding to the killing of the third son of a Siwan resident who had urged the top court to cancel his bail. Shahabuddin had allegedly killed two of his sons earlier and while trial was underway, the third son, a witness to the earlier murder, was killed in an acid bath, his lawyer Prashant Bhushan had alleged.
