Defying prohibitory orders, supporters of Anna Hazare continued with their protest against a "weak" Lokpal Bill for the second day here today.

CHANDIGARH: Defying prohibitory orders, supporters of Anna Hazare continued with their protest against a "weak" Lokpal Bill for the second day here today.

The protesters would be rounded up if they continue to defy the prohibitory orders imposed by the district administration, police said.

Yesterday, some supporters of Team Anna were rounded up from near the sector 17 inter-state bus terminus for holding demonstration without permission.

In the wake of protests by Hazare supporters over the Lokpal issue, Chandigarh Administration yesterday imposed prohibitory orders at some places.

Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed by the District Magistrate in front of five residences, including that of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, located in different parts of the city.

Besides, the five private residences of VIPs, prohibitory orders have also been imposed in three other areas of the Union Territory, including Plaza area of the main Commercial Centre - Sector 17 where protests by different organisations take place frequently.

The order prohibits assembly of five or more persons, taking out of processions, making speeches, raising slogans and carrying of canes within 200m of the locations.

The orders would remain in force for three days till December 29. PTI
